The aim of the study performed via the Scottish Biofuel Programme was to ascertain whether the samples provided would be suitable feedstocks for the Biofuel Research Centre’s ABE process. This process converts industrial waste materials into solvents and gases: Acetone, Butanol and Ethanol (ABE); these can be used as fuels for transport or heating.
